Marc Jacobs collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami started few years ago and they experimented with the iconic Monogram pattern to produce the Multicolore collection which was a big success. In fact, the Multicolore collection is now part of the permanent line in Louis Vuitton’s catalogue. Many artistic bags was released from the House which includes the Cherry Blossoms, Cerises, Pandas, etc. Now, a new craze hits the town. Monogram canvas + camouflage = Louis Vuitton Monogramouflage. Two elements that are very different-one being very elegant and iconic, and the other is very bold, tough and commando-ish-fused in together to create a unique collection.
When the first photo of the Monogramouflage canvas was released to the public, there were mixed opinions about it. Others say it looks really creative while others say Louis Vuitton’s gone cheap. But in spite of many criticisms, the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Monogramouflage was flocked at it’s debut at the Murakami Exhibition at Brooklyn Museum last June 1. The collection will also be available at select Louis Vuitton stores starting tomorrow, June 15th to July 13th.
