Smaller version of the Shopper, the Bowling Monogram Etoile is probably elegance and sophistication made into a bag. I. Just. Love. This! It looks quite similar to the Griet but this one’s got sparkle and zazzle into it!
Did you know that the Monogram Etoile was named after the famous Place de l’Étoile, a large road junction in Paris, France which is the meeting point of twelve straight avenues (hence the name “Star Square”) including the Champs-Élysées which continues to the east. The square was renamed Place Charles de Gaulle in 1970 in honor of President de Gaulle, but is still largely referred to by its original name.
Like the Shopper Monogram Etoile, the Bowling is made from a special canvas which is lighter and softer than the ordinary Monogram. It is triple quilted which means that there are three quilt lines that sandwiches the layers and sews them together to create the unique geometric grids that passes through the flowers leaving the LV monogram untouched. The bag is an astonishing interpretation of the classic featuring strong details including a zipper closure with a round padlock, a signed twist-lock closure as well as numerous pockets.
Louis Vuitton Bowling Monogram Etoile measures 12.6″ x 7.1″ x 7.9″. Available at Louis Vuitton for $2,950.
