Fall 2007 was the release of the Monogram Motard line, but after that season, the line has been completely reinterpreted for the Spring/Summer 2008 collection through Marc Jacob’s artistic collaboration with cutting-edge American artist Richard Prince. Just a background info here; the Motard was actually inspired by popular culture, Prince referenced vintage pulp fiction in naming each bag and incorporated the biker aesthetic into the unique Motard texture. The result is a strong evening statement, and one of the bags from the Spring line is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Motard Beforedark.
The Beforedark is a really elegant evening clutch made from velvet-touch suede with the Monogram Motard as it’s trim. It has these oversized golden-trimmed eyelet handles that are really comfortable to carry hand-held. The Beforedark can also be carried on the shoulder thanks to it’s removable black acetate chain link shoulder strap. The clutch’s inside lining is made from luxe silk so it’s absolutely chic chic chic! The Motard Beforedark measures 13.2″ x 7.1″ x 4.7″ and is available at Louis Vuitton for $3,070.
Anyway, the Beforedark’s color is really not just for Spring but for all-year-round. I just hope that the Motard would be available forever coz they’re really a great addition to Louis Vuitton’s permanent line.
