Louis Vuitton Monogram Galliera. PM, GM.
I’ve always been asked by my friends about what Vuitton bag would be suitable as a schoolbag or as an everyday bag and my reply, along with the other classics, is the supple and comfortable Galliera.
Monogram Galliera is a chic and contemporary shoulder bag that boats luxurious details with elegance and style. It takes its name from Musée Galliera, a fashion museum in Paris that houses exhibitions and collections of French fashion and costume from the eighteenth century to the present day which includes clothes owned by Marie-Antoinette, Louis XVIII, etc. The Museum also displays fashions by the leading 19th and 20th century designers including Cristobal Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and more. This museum is definitely in my top priority visits if ever I’m in Paris.
Louis Vuitton Monogram Galliera features a magnetic closure made from fine golden brass pieces. A pocket with flap, cellphone compartment and D-ring can be found inside the bag that would surely be very functional. Galliera also showcases the striking Louis Vuitton Inventeur metal plate that adds a more style to the bag’s whole look.
Galliera comes in two sizes, PM (16.5″ x 11.4″ x 6.7″) and GM (19.7″ x 13.4″ x 7.9″). Available at Louis Vuitton for $1,270 and $1,460 for PM and GM correspondingly.
But wait! I’m not yet done. This coming November, Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2009 collection will be released. And in this collection, four new Gallieras would be up for grabs. There’s the Galliera Python (literal Python Skin), Galliera Amalfitana (weaved Raffia hemp), Galliera Damier Azur and Galliera Riviera.
