The Monogram Mirage Griet Exotic was released last year, Fall/Winter 2007. But now, this bag, along with the Delft Exotic can be ordered via www.louisvuitton.com. Designed by Marc Jacobs, the Griet Exotic is crafted from the Monogram Mirage canvas that was inspired by the world of Johannes Vermeer, a Dutch Baroque painter who specialized in exquisite, domestic interior scenes of ordinary life whose painting called ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring‘ was known as the “Mona Lisa of the North”.
The Mirage canvas looks really unique because if you’ll observe, the Monogram pattern gradually fades the closer it gets to the top of the bag. In the art of painting and photography, this technique is called degradation. But the most interesting part of the Griet Exotic is that its trimmed with 4 layers of exotic skins which includes alligator, two versions of watersnake, and ostrich. And because of these unique and exceptional materials, Monogram Mirage Griet Exotic measures 16.1″ x 9.8″ x 5.9″, and is available at Louis Vuitton for $9,850. *thud*, I died.
