I know this story is almost a week old but whatever, I just saved the best for last! This holiday season, Louis Vuitton’s Maison in 5th Avenue New York has been wrapped up in vinyl display of Takashi Murakami’s contemporary Monogram Multicolor pattern. The installation has started last week and was completed last Sunday, November 9, 2008.

I’ve waited for pics to show up in Flickr and luckily I was able to grab a few tons so check them out after the jump!

The Big Brother-esque window display has also been replaced with a more colorful and festive holiday theme with large monogram flowers glowing madly with bags and accessories in their center.

Louis Vuitton also opened a “Bag Bar” last September on the maison’s mezzanine level complete with bar stools as well as an installation of moving display fixtures to highlight different handbag styles. Forget real bars, this is definitely the it hangout spot for the fashion-crazy.

And lastly, check out this stunning display beside the staircase. I really love the colors!

If you live in New York, you should definitely pay a visit to see it in person. I’ve heard that it’s more beautiful at night. I wish I could see it, and I really dream of living in NYC coz I want to study at either Parsons or FIT!

    An unfortunate experience !
Last week I flew from the UK (Wales) to New York with my daughter Helen to do some Christmas Shopping.Amongst the myriad of stores and sites visited -we went into Louis Vuitton to treat my daughter to a handbag where were overwhelmed by the actual store but underwhelmed by the staff.

When we approached staff for assistance we felt that everything or anything asked of them was too much trouble – absolutely appalling ! However the situation was retreived by another woman assistant who came over was more than helpful and most charming – and for which we thanked her, commenting that it was a shame the rest of the staff did not embrace her attitude.

We eventually bought a bag (our second LV bag ) and went on our way.
I would respectfully appeal for LV to perhaps get some mystery shoppers to test our observations/experience.
