It was created by Louis Vuitton in honor of his father and named with reference to Icarus, a character in Greek mythology who is the son of Daedalus and is commonly known for his attempt to escape Crete by flight, which ended in a fall to his death.

Icare is absolutely ideal for traveling, it can be easily attached to the Pégase and Eole components of the Louis Vuitton luggage collection thanks to the wide harness at the back of the bag. Icare features two internal wide compartments and an external zippered pocket securely closed with double zippered closure.
