So, after the hideous fake photoshopped ad campaign that fooled people (including myself), WWD has released the preview of the authentic Spring/Summer 2009 Ad Campaign photos starring Madonna. According to WWD, Marc Jacobs said that he was totally blown away and moved by Madonna’s concert in Paris, her energy and her presense which made him decide to cast her as the star for next season’s campaign.
Madonna’s ads also marks the end of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott’s 6-year ad campaign streak with Louis Vuitton as Steven Meisel will take over, another reunion for long-time collaborators Madonna and Meisel.
More pics after the jump…
Six photos would end up printed in a range of fashion magazines starting February. “It’s a big change from what we were doing. It tells a story,” said Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s director of communications. “This I think is an amazing coup, but more than that, there’s real logic behind it. It’s very linked to Marc’s fashion show.”
So based on the first visuals careof WWD, the slouchy bags in the iconic Monogram canvas and Monogram-embossed leather will be made into production and would hit the store shelves next year along with tribal-inspired sandals, accessories and ready to wear. I can’t wait to see the whole campaign!
