As seen from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2009 show in Paris back in October 2008, the emblematic Kalahari named after the famous desert in Sub-Saharan Africa is crafted from the iconic Monogram canvas, natural cowhide and metallic leather trimmings and is distinguishable by its rounded supple shape, pleated flap and drawstring closure which makes it secure for everyday use. The bag’s resin beads, rope, and metal eyelets adds in the layer of ethnic motif in coherence to the spirit of the collection.
Monogram Kalahari features a flat inside pocket and a phone pocket. It can be carried by hand, elbow or on the shoulder with its comfortable leather flat handles being held together by shiny golden brass pieces. Kalahari comes in two sizes: PM (9.8″ x 9″ x 3.9″) and GM (13″ x 11.8″ x 3.5″), available at Louis Vuitton for $2660 and $3390 for PM and GM respectively.
