ILVOELV Dashboard Widget

Would it be great if you’d receive I LVOE LV’s updates and read new posts directly to your dashboard? Now you can. After hours of programming and designing, I’ve finally finished the ILVOELV Dashboard Widget for Mac. It’s a convenient way to get updated with what’s new in Louis Vuitton.

FOR WINDOWS
Unfortunately, I do not know how to make a version for Windows Vista / 7. However, I’ll do some research and try my hardest to create a Windows version of the widget.

Wow its so pretty. Thanks a lot for this! I'm using it right now!

  • Ian

Bengt, did you make this yourself? If so, how?
    It looks amazing, btw..

  • Bengt

Hi Ian, yes I did. First, I joined ADC (Apple Developer Connection), then downloaded Xcode 3.2. In Xcode, there's an application called Dashcode wherein you could make dashboard widgets, and then that's it.. 🙂

  • Ian

    ^ Wow, you're really good. :]
    Is it hard to make?

  • Bengt

    Thanks, Ian. :p
Its really not that hard, just drag-and-drop and a little bit of coding/programming. The part that took most of my time was designing the widget. The top and the bottom parts were made from scratch, so its a bit exhausting. You should try to make one, its fun. 🙂

  • bird_n_tree

This is EXACTLY what I NEED !! and you thought of it alllll ^^ thanks Bengt

  • Bengt

    ^ You're totally welcome, bird_n_tree.. 🙂

Great widget! I totally need this!
Bengt, you should do an iPhone version!

  • Bengt

^ I'm glad you like it.
Yeah, I was really planning on making an iPhone app, but I need to pay for the iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit) and I don't have $99 to spare. LOL.. I'm currently applying for college and all my money goes there.. But hopefully, I'll release an iPhone version in the near future.. *fingers crossed*

    Love it!

  • Eppy

    THANK U 4 THIS!

  • Andy S

Bengt, you're so good! I never knew you know how to do programming and all that stuff. Did you learn that all by yourself? I totally have no idea on how those things work but its works anyway so whatever. lol

  • Bengt

    ^ Haha, you're hilarious! LOL
Thanks a lot. I actually studied Computer Science in a university here, so I guess that helped. 🙂

  • Andy S

WOW! Computer Science?! That's like crazy hard.. hahaha.. so you're still in that course? why you said you apply for college?

  • Bengt

^ Yeah, its crazy hard. With all the math, analysis, problem solving and programming… nosebleed galore.. Haha..

I stopped studying coz its not the career I want. I can't imagine myself sitting in a cubicle writing programs and coding all day for the rest of my life.. LOL.. I'm now applying for fashion school… I want to be a designer. 🙂

I have a question, I have downloaded the widget and I click on it and the screen sort of shimmers like a rock was tossed into a still pool of water and all I can see is the little "X" in the circle to delete the widget from the dashboard. Is this the correct way for it to function? I have Mac OS X 4.11 version so I am ok there. Thanks and any help would be appreciated!

  • Bengt

^ Yes, that's the animation for adding a new widget to the dashboard. Do you mean that you don't see the widget? Just the little x mark?

  • Anonymous

Yes, I do not see the widget, just the little x mark

  • Bengt

^ What's your OS? You said its Mac OS X 4.11. The widget only runs from 10.4 & later. Do you mean OS X 10.4.11?

  • Anonymous

    yes, it's Mac OS X 10.4.11.

It works great! I love it! Thank you!
