Monogram Tahitienne makes a comeback this season as Louis Vuitton has created a stunning silk collection evoking Louis Vuitton’s heritage of travel: The Monogram Map.
The collection consists of two pieces. First, a silk twill carre with the world map incrusted in an amazing halo of color surrounded by the Monogram Tahitienne pattern and finally framed with a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk complete with nails and corner bumpers. Second, a lovely silk bandeau with the same Tahitienne pattern sans world map, but the graduation of the colors is just striking. Reminds me of the Monogram Mirage.
I am in love with these silks! They would definitely look amazing if framed as art on my office wall.
Monogram Map Carre measures 36″ x 36″ while the Bandeau 48″ x 2.8″. They will be released by color starting with the Cassis (July 1st), Gris (July 15th), and Marron (August 1st). You can get them at Louis Vuitton stores for US$350 for the Carre and US$150 for the Bandeau.
