It was in its Louis Vuitton travel case that the FIFA World Cup™ trophy made its entrance last night onto the pitch of the final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Fabio Cannavaro, Captain of the Italian team who was the world champions in 2006, had the very special task of bringing the Trophy onto the pitch. He thus carried it in its Louis Vuitton case, took it out and then placed it on the podium in front of the 94,700 privileged spectators at the Soccer City Stadium.
To meet the request of the FIFA who placed this special order with Louis Vuitton a few months ago, the craftsmen at the Louis Vuitton workshop in Asnières (France) started making this case aimed at protecting the most coveted sporting prize in the world during all of its travelling.
And of course, congratulations Spain for winning the World Cup 2010! Paul the Octopus was so right! ;p
