1920’s, Art Deco, Art Nouveau and color-blocking are the key themes behind Louis Vuitton’s Galuchat clutches from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. As it’s name implies, the Galuchat clutches are made from luxurious stingray leather which gives them an exotic and glamorous appeal. The clutches adopt a capsule shape similar to the other bags in this collection, with rich and intricate details testifying to the savoir-faire of the Louis Vuitton ateliers.
Reprising the color-block theme from the Spring/Summer 2011 ready-to-wear collection, the Galuchat Maestria embraces the vibrant and colorful spirit of the Art Deco movement. The bag is entirely made from shiny, grained Stingray leather, with a bold laser-cut Louis Vuitton signature to complete the glamourous look.
Galuchat Maestria features an engraved square lock in shiny black grass (which I adore), an interior flat pocket and a matte goatskin underflap and lining. The bag measures 10.8″ x 5.1″ x 2″ and comes in this season’s standout shade combinations: Amethyste, Grenat, and Fuchsia. They’re available at Louis Vuitton stores for US$4950.
Galuchat Art Nouveau
If you want a more luxurious and exotic piece, the Galuchat Art Nouveau clutch is something worth looking at. Like the Maestria, Art Nouveau is made from Stingray leather. But this time, it features exotic floral details crafted from exquisite ostrich leathers and shimmering hand-embellished Swarovski crystals.
Galuchat Art Nouveau measures 11″ x 4.5″ x 2.2″ and comes in a choice of two color variations (Amethyste and Noir), with two different Iris designs. The bag also features a shiny black metallic Louis Vuitton signature clasp, a matte goatskin underflap, an interior flat pocket, and a luxurious black silk and lamé satin Monogram lining. And lastly, a cushion is supplied to help retain the bag’s shape when not in use.
Galuchat Art Nouveau is available at select Louis Vuitton stores for US$12,000.
