The collaboration started when Sofia Coppola accepted an invitation from her long-time friend Marc Jacobs to visit Louis Vuitton’s historic workshop and Museum of Travel in Asnières. But when Sofia Coppola visited the workshop with the intention of placing her own special order, little did she imagine that she would end up creating – with the help of Louis Vuitton’s expert designers and craftsmen – an entire collection.

With her fondness for timeless pieces, Sofia was inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic shapes Speedy and Keepall, which she interpreted in precious new materials and with an acute sense of detail, encapsulating her own subtly glamorous style. “I had an idea of what I was looking for and couldn’t find… I think it must be every woman’s fantasy to dream up an ideal bag and shoe.”
