Seven crafts performed by hands outlined by daylight. They stitch the skin of a Speedy bag with beeswax-coated yarn, hollow a pea jacket at the waistcoat, sheath the trunk case of a Wardrobe with a creaser, smooth a shoe upper to perfection, scour the contours of a Craquantes jewel, coat the arms of a pair of glasses, file the bevels of a Tambour movement.

“Fiesso is more than a place, it defines our attachment to memory, to roots. Tradition is unveiled to become modernity,” says Yves Carcelle, the Chief Executive of Louis Vuitton.

In this lair of know-how, a new line of activity aimed at “made-to-order” men’s shoes has been taking shape since 2011.

From hand-stitched Goodyear to the finish of women’s shoes, obsession with excellence pervades each and every detail – some pairs require up to 250 difference operations.
