The first piece of jewelry created for Louis Vuitton was a charm bracelet. In 2001 Marc Jacobs designed this adornment to celebrate the codes of the house and ever since, special moments have been marked by the creation of a charm. Many have become collector’s items such as the ‘fetish’ collection including handcuffs, boots and military cap created for the Autumn/Winter 2011 Women’s Fashion show.
The charms highlighted in this film by creative collective AB/CD/CD celebrate both the new collection of travel charms and the charms of the iconic bags of Louis Vuitton. Car, aeroplane, hot air balloon, ship, Alma and hatbox… They have all been associated with a different sound in this almost hypnotic piece. This not only recalls the symbolic sound of each individual object in real life but also playfully recalls the sound they make altogether on a bracelet which is, after all, the very charm of charms themselves.
