A mix between two different silhouettes resulting in a chic parity of sophistication and nonchalance… Introducing the Metis, a Louis Vuitton icon in the making. This charming hobo bag in the classic Monogram canvas is a modern interpretation of the Monceau – launched in 1986 – and combines the versatility required of a contemporary bag with the elegance of the House’s heritage of savoir-faire. Metis is instantly identifiable with its unique form and an S-lock, an iconic metal piece of the House inspired by the historical trunks.
You can carry the Metis in a number of ways – be it by hand, on the arm, or on the shoulder – thanks to its removable natural cowhide leather handle and its adjustable and removable shoulder strap in Monogram canvas. One this to take note of though is that the Monogram canvas strap isn’t long enough for cross-body wearing. Other features include natural cowhide leather trims, golden brass metallic hardware, dark brown microfiber lining, and a large zipped interior pocket and double BB pockets.
Monogram Metis Hobo measures 5.1″ x 13.4″ x 12.6″, available at Louis Vuitton stores for US$1670. Metis Hobo also comes in a version in Monogram Empreinte leather.
But if you’re into more structured & compact bags, the Metis also comes in a satchel version which can be worn as either a functional cross-body or as a sophisticated clutch. Metis Pochette’s petite dimensions open up to reveal many useful pockets and compartments: an exterior zipped pocket, 3 interior compartments, and a flat pocket. Other design elements are taken from its Hobo counterpart such as the flap and golden brass lock, elegant handle and trims in natural cowhide leather, and an adjustable and removable strap in Monogram canvas.
Métis Pochette measures 3.5″ x 7.5″ x 9.8″, available at Louis Vuitton stores for US$1410.
